GIFTS PILING UP FOR RAINELLE LOOK HERE CUSTOMERS
Early supporters with donations to help pay for advertising and gift wrapping papers were Smathers Funeral Chapel and Wallace and Wallace Funeral Homes.
Rainelle Kroger store manager Dave Beavers is giving away $500 in Kroger gift cards and in gift baskets of goodies from each Kroger department.
Roger Brown, owner of K & G Tires, is providing $400 in gift certificates at Rainelle restaurants.
Spicy Tomato’s Rose McClung is giving gift certificates good for dinners at her restaurant.
Sandy Epling State Farm Insurance Agent gave a bag of goodies worth several hundred dollars including teddy bears, fluffy stuffed dogs, insulated mitten windshield scrapers, and an insulated shopping bag.
Rainelle Area Planning Commission is giving away one archival copy of Max Hayslette’s “Meadow River Lumber Company” valued at $295.
Other gifts awaiting photos include a documented ladies’ white gold tennis bracelet, a Shaw Christmas Area Rug (5 feet by 7 feet), a collection of autobiographies titled Deep In Our Hearts: Nine White Women in the Freedom Movement that includes a chapter by Joan C. Browning, autographed “the Last Freedom Rider and Special Assistant to the Honorable Andrea Pendleton, Mayor of Rainelle, West Virginia.”

“This LOOK HERE project is zooming ahead,” chair Monica Venable said. “Next week, we will announce time and place for free gift wrapping for items purchased in Rainelle stores.”
Other holiday events generating excitement include the December 10th Rainelle Volunteer Fire Department’s parade, set to step off from the 811th Ordnance Armory and end with visits with Santa at the Fire House on James River & Kanawha Turnpike and a craft show in Town Hall organized by Amanda Hunter.
“There is a new spirit in Rainelle,” Mayor Andrea Pendleton said. “We invite everybody to come and enjoy our town and help us make it better.”
